Virtual Roundtable for communities fighting airport expansions
We joined Kati and Lilly and the SPJE’s virtual Roundtable for communities in the region fighting airport expansions on Wed, Feb 5th 2025. In this meeting we crowdsourced information, learned how our campaigns overlapped and where they diverge. Each community's fight is part of a larger trend based on the aviation industry’s plan for continued, indefinite growth. We listened and learned how we can strengthen our efforts and best support each other.

In January, 2024 United States Environmental Protection Agency issued a harsh letter to the Airport saying they must study the potential damage to the drinking water Aquifer. The letter says the study lacks information on public and private wells. It says the Airport wrongly claimed the groundwater did not need to be studied for potential pollution from the Airport expansion. Read the letter here.
